  • Off-Campus Access

To access online databases from outside the law school building, students and faculty must first provide a valid patron name and "barcode" number. Normally, you will be asked for authenticating information only once per session, regardless of how may databases you use. Closing your web browser cancels authentication.

For assistance with the verification process, contact the library circulation desk at (202) 319-5156. New patron registration must be done in person at the circulation desk. Barcode numbers cannot be provided over the phone.

To report any other problems with remote access, click Here. Please include the following information:

  • Your name and email address
  • The database or service you were trying to access
  • The day and time of the incident
  • The specific action that caused a problem (e.g., viewing a document, printing a cite list)
  • If possible, copy the URL of the problem page into the email.
  • Please follow the appropriate logoff procedure (usually a button labeled "exit", "log out" or "sign off"). This helps ensure resources are immediately available for other users.
